Day by Day

9 Nights / 10 Days

1. Day 1

   Arrival - Negombo

   Shared airport transfer to a budget guesthouse in Negombo. Overnight in Negombo.

2. Day 2

   Negombo - Kandy

   Drive to Kandy (approximately 3.5 hours). Self-guided visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Overnight at a budget guesthouse.

3. Day 3

   Kandy at Leisure

   A free day around Kandy Lake and the local market, with an optional budget-friendly Kandyan dance performance in the evening. Overnight in Kandy.

4. Day 4

   Kandy - Ella

   Drive into and across the highlands (approximately 4-4.5 hours), with a stop at a tea factory. Overnight at a hostel-style guesthouse in Ella.

5. Day 5

   Ella at Leisure

   An independent hike to Little Adam's Peak and the Nine Arch Bridge, with plenty of café and bar options for the group in the evening. Overnight in Ella.

6. Day 6

   Ella - Yala

   Shared transfer south (approximately 2.5 hours) via Wellawaya for a shared jeep safari through Yala National Park, split across your group to reduce the per-person cost. Overnight at a budget guesthouse near Yala.

7. Day 7

   Yala - Arugam Bay

   Dawn shared safari, then drive north up the east coast to Arugam Bay (approximately 2.5-3 hours). Overnight at a surf hostel.

8. Day 8

   Arugam Bay Group Surf Lesson

   A group surf lesson at one of the area's beginner-friendly breaks (main season May-October). Overnight in Arugam Bay.

9. Day 9

   Arugam Bay at Leisure

   A free day to surf, relax at the hostel's communal rooftop, or take a group day trip to Kumana National Park. Overnight in Arugam Bay.

10. Day 10

    Departure

    Shared transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport (approximately 6.5-7 hours) - a full travel day.
